LB 124 SCINT Handheld Contamination Monitor with a Scintillation Detector

The handheld alpha-beta contamination monitor LB 124 SCINT is based on a newly developed large area scintillation detector. This technology provides several advantages for contamination monitoring in radiation protection:

- Counting gas supply not required
- Excellent position dependent response

This detection technique provides extremely high sensitivity for both, alphas and beta/gamma radiation. The instrument is therefore ideally suited for the measurement of radioactive contaminations in nuclear medicine, research, nuclear power plants, nuclear decommissioning and waste.

The software offers many useful modes of operation, complex functions, utilities, and access to all para- meters for experienced users. For unskilled users the instrument's configuration can be defined in supervisor mode as a simple or even extremely simple system. The supervisor can grant access authorization for user profiles only for selected menus, functions or para- meters according to the special needs of the site. The instrument has a memory to store measured values and bi-directional serial RS232 communication. This provides program download, parameter download, remote control and data transfer to a host computer or printer.

The LB 124 is ergonomically designed and is easy to use. It has a low weight allowing real one hand operation for daily routine. The instrument has a large graphical display with background illumination facility. The results are always clearly indicated - even under bad conditions. Control of the instrument is easily done via simple multi-function keys.
